The next Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend which will be held on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August 2019.
Once again Calder Holmes Park in Hebden Bridge will be host to the spectacular display of veteran, vintage and classic motor vehicles, spanning over 100 years of motoring history, described by Classic Car Weekly as 'One of Britain's best car shows'. The Vintage Weekend is now in its 37th year, with the first rally held in 1983. It is interesting to note that brand new cars on display in dealer’s showrooms that year are now eligible to attend the Saturday Rally. Almost all the famous British marques are represented at the rally along with famous names from across the word.
As usual all entrants will receive a programme, including a list of entrants and a memento of the rally when they arrive on the rally field. There will be prizes for all classes, with judging by a panel selected by the organisers.
We would like to emphasise that all profits made from the rally are distributed to local, national and international charities and good causes and that all volunteers working at the event give their time freely. The entry fee goes some way to deferring the direct costs of the rally and thus helps us raise money for those in need and those less fortunate than ourselves.
The relatively new categories of ‘Replica or Kit Cars’ on Saturday and ‘American Vehicles on Sunday have again proved popular, and we will be including them again this year. Another new class was Novelty Vehicles, which included pedal cars, classic bicycles, soapbox racing cars, etc. is included again, this year. We hope this class will enhance the event and encourage entries from young enthusiasts.
Once again we will be organising a Scenic Run but around a different route. If you would like to participate in the run, which takes place on the Sunday, please indicate so on your entry form.
When you book we would be delighted to receive any additional information about your vehicle which could be used in the rally programme and in our promotional material.
Rally registration cards will be sent out from late May onwards.
This year we hope to provide a vaiety of entertainment on the park for your enjoyment. The two-day event attracts a wide variety of vehicles from across the country and there is the added bonus of being able to watch the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society’s ‘Trans Pennine Run’ pass through Hebden Bridge on the Sunday.
We hope you will be able to join us for another enjoyable, relaxed rally, in pleasant surroundings.
The open plan design of the site means that members of the public can get up close to the exhibits and chat to their owners.
There will be a different display of vehicles on each day. Along with the vehicles, a large number of stalls, offering a wide variety of products, have booked to attend.
There will also be on site catering available throughout the opening times on both days, offering a wide variety of refreshments. Last year's cateringincluded jacket potatoes, hot beef baguettes, salads and sandwiches from the Yorkshire Pie & pea Company, sausages and sandwiches from Porcus, a small farm business nestling on the moors above the incredible food town of Todmorden, coffee and cakes from Café Ciao, Asian food from east West Catering and crêpes and ice cream and much more.
The event promises to be a fun day out for all the family with children’s entertainment and live music on both days.
